The Elements of Building a Happy Life

What if I were to tell you that there is one thing that has the ability to give you everything you have ever wanted? And that this ‘thing’ is very easy to access?

All of life’s complexities tend to seem so major when we focus on them; like things we haven’t got, what we need more of, and how we need to change. In reality, many of our worries aren’t real, even though we make such a huge deal about them. The reason? You already have everything you could possibly need!

The “thing” that will give you everything you’ve ever wanted is – YOU and, moreover, you already have everything you could ever need. Puzzled?

The idea that we need more than what we already have, can only be compared to insanity. If we ‘needed’ it, surely we would die without it, surely we wouldn’t be able to breathe another moment without it. See where this is leading?

If you picture your life as having everything you have always wanted, the universe will respond by giving you these things! Like attracts like, and to be happy, you must feel satisfied with what you already have. Makes sense, right?

Ultimately, your happiness rests in your hands. You can’t blame your childhood, or failed relationships, or unfortunate losses for your unhappiness. And in the moment of pain and suffering and need this is easy to do. However, to put it bluntly, they are just excuses. Are you really prepared to take your last breath whilst thinking, “I lived an unhappy life because of things that happened around me”? That’s a very sad notion.

You are in control of your life, no matter what comes your way. Of course, your patience, strength and endurance will be tested but it’s how you respond that counts. Once you take yourself out of a victim role and into a role of self-sufficiency and control, you’ll see big changes happen almost immediately.

How can I Build a Happy life for Myself?

I don’t promise to make your life fulfilled, that’s not what I’m here for. What I can do, however, is offer guidance that may lead to this.

Affirmations are a great place to start. If you’re new to affirmations, this might help explain what they are:

Every human being on this planet uses affirmations everyday of their lives, ultimately; affirmations are our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. Without even noticing, you might live each day telling yourself that you aren’t attractive, or that opportunities rarely come your way, or that life isn’t good enough (Esther Hicks).

As mentioned earlier, like attracts like and if you are using negative affirmations, you can be sure that you will only receive negativity in response.

A good way to change this is to say positive affirmations to yourself each day; you can say them in your mind or out loud. Even if you don’t believe them to be true right now, you will notice overtime that the affirmations you say will naturally flow into your life.

Here are ten positive affirmations that you can say to make positive improvements in your life.

“I am happy, I am safe, and all is well.”

“I already have everything I could ever need or want.”

“Life treats me well.”

“I am beautiful on the inside and out.”

“Success flows into my life in abundance.”

“Love is the driving force in all of my relationships.”

“I am surrounded by people who bring joy to my life.”

“My life is constantly improving.”

“I am fit and healthy.”

“I am kind and giving.”
